Bali 9 is a very important example of injustice. Lives were taken away, for the attempt to smuggle drugs. Do you see how this is fair? Because I certainly don't. It was so morally wrong to execute those particular men after keeping them imprisoned for a decade. Who let Indonesia take our countries people to keep them locked up for so long, to then take their lives away. If some people class this as justice what do they classify injustice?
Opinion PieceIn February 2006, 9 people were convicted for smuggling drugs from Indonesia to Australia. Almost 10 years later the two ring leaders were executed by firing squad. This is absolutely outrageous, why should people be killed for a mistake they made almost a decade ago? It was Australian Federal police who caught the drug smugglers leaving Indonesia, so who let the Indonesian keep the men imprisoned for a decade to then execute them? The two men in particular, didn’t kill anyone with the use of their drugs so why should they be killed? All of the individuals involved, did not deserve to be given the death penalty. Yes, I believe they should have received some sort of punishment but to the extent of capital punishment. They didn’t take anyone’s life away, so why should there’s?

if their life is taken away before they get the chance. More importantly, why are colored people treated more harshly, legally and morally? Why are colored people discriminated upon because of something they cant help? It isn't right and it needs to stop. |
